Mrs. Herluf Hansen, 74, Dies Early Today

Mrs. Lulu J. Hansen, 74, wife of the late Herluf Hansen and a resident of 107 West Ninth street, died at 2:30 this morning at the Cass County Memorial hospital. She had been in her usual health until she was taken ill and admitted to the hospital yesterday.

Mrs. Hansen was born in Kansas Sept. 22, 1898, the daughter of Harley and Asenath Fesler Meade and taught school in Kansas a number of years. She was married to Mr. Hansen at Goodland, Kans., May 26, 1922 and lived in the Wiota vicinity until moving to Atlantic in 1968. Mr. Hansen died July 9, 1967.

Surviving are five daughters, Mrs. Donald Brandmeyer, Long Beach, Calif., Mrs. Robert Burns, Cedar Rapids, Mrs. Donald Peters, Billings, Mont., Mrs. Victor Bohls, Littleton, Colo., and Mrs. Tom Hurley, Indianola; two sisters, Mrs. Vic Scheck, Denver, Colo., and Mrs. Roe Groom, Council Grove, Kans.; three brothers, Earl and Elmo Meade, both of Hays, Kans., and Hugh Meade, Palco, Kans.; 14 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Four brothers and three sisters preceded her in death.

Funeral services will be held Friday afternoon at 1:30 at the Roland funeral home, the Rev. Harold Smith officiating. The family will meet relatives and friends at the funeral home from 7:30 to 9 Thursday evening and burial will be in the Atlantic cemetery.
