Herbert Holste, Dewey Store Owner, Dies

Herbert Holste, 86, of Massena, died Sunday morning at the Cass County Memorial Hospital. Mr. Holste was owner of the Dewey Store south of Massena for many years.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, Jan. 23, at St. Peter's United Church of Christ near Massena. Rev. Bharat Surender will officiate.

Burial will be in the Victoria Center Cemetery, and the family will meet friends from 7-8 p.m. Tuesday at the Massena Funeral Chapel.

Mr. Holste was born Dec. 7, 1893, in Victoria Township, the son of William and Emma Holste. He was married to Belva Townsley Feb. 17, 1918.

Surviving are his wife, a son, Merlin of Kansas City, Mo.; four daughters, Mrs. Clarence Boswell of Cumberland, Marjorie Billings, of Cumberland, Mrs. Orval Boswell of Prescott, and Mrs. Thomas Killmon of Council Bluffs; a sister, Viola Kerkmann of Atlantic; 17 grandchildren; and 23 great-grandchildren.
