Andrew Andersen of Marne Dies Sunday

Funeral services for Andrew Chris Andersen, 74, Marne retired farmer, were held at 2 o'clock this afternoon at the Wagler-Vieth funeral home here, with Rev. Robert McBlain officiating. Burial was in the Brighton township cemetery near Marne.

Mr. Andersen died Sunday morning at the Neighbors Nursing home at Griswold. The son of Adolph and Marie Sorensen Andersen, he was born at Copenhagen, Denmark, March 20, 1897 and came to the United States when he was four years of age. He was baptized in the Lutheran faith in Denmark.

Mr. Andersen and Ivra Shelor were married at Jacksonville Nov. 1, 1924 and they lived in the Harlan-Kirkman area for 18 years before moving to a farm in the Lewis-Griswold area. They retired in 1965 and moved to Marne.

Surviving are his wife, three children, Kenneth Andersen of Walnut, Cordell Andersen of Council Bluffs and Mrs. Beryl Freeman of Griswold; six grandchildren; a brother, Casper Andersen of Redlands, Calif.; and two sisters, Mrs. Esther Dickinson and Mrs. Minnie Christensen.
