C. T. Leigan, 68 Former Atlantic Man, Dies

Charles T. Leigan, 68, of Des Moines, former Atlantic man, died yesterday morning at the Iowa Methodist hospital in Des Moines, where he had been a patient four months. Mr. Leigan had been ill with a heart ailment the last year.

He was born Sept. 26, 1882, at Neodesha, Kans., the son of Charles and Josephine Leigan. He formerly operated an automobile agency here and was with the Herring Motor company in Atlantic for many years, moving to Des Moines about 30 years ago.

Surviving are his widow, the former Leila Durr of Atlantic; two children, Marion C. Leigan of Des Moines and Mrs. Vince Stanley of Herndon, Ia.; a brother, William Leigan of Hutchinson, Kans.; five sisters, Mrs. E. S. Jenkins of Kansas City, Kans., Mrs. William Grimm of Neodesha, Kans., Mrs. Jack Clark of Greenfield, Mrs. Ralph Goodwin of Atlantic and Mrs Robert Wood of Wiota and four grandchildren. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Rev. George A. Leigan of Hollister, Calif., and W. R. Leigan of Exira.

Funeral services will be held Monday afternoon at 2 o’clock at the Highland Park Presbyterian church in Des Moines and interment will be in the Masonic cemetery there.
