FRED J. DURR, 77, RETIRED ATLANTIC BOTTLER, PASSES

Fred J. Durr, 77, a resident of Atlantic since he was ten years old and for many years engaged in the bottling business here, died this morning at 7:30 at his home 1003 Laurel street. He had been suffering from infection since June 14 and had been in a serious condition for several weeks.

Mr. Durr was born June 15, 1866, in Rock Island, Ill., the son of Fred and Christina Fowler Durr. He came to Cass county with his parents when he was 10 years old and was married May 6, 1891, to Ida Day at the home in which they have since resided. Mr. and Mrs. Durr celebrated their golden wedding anniversary at their home May 6, 1941.

Surviving besides the widow are three daughters, Mrs. Vera Berry and Mrs. Leila Leigan of Des Moines, and Mrs. Claude Malone of Atlantic; one son, Ralph Durr, of Denver; two sisters, Mrs. E. B. McClure and Mrs. Louise Hunt, of Stockton, Cal.; six grandchildren and two great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at the Roland, Peacock & Baxter funeral home Saturday afternoon at 2:30, the Rev. H. G. Darling, pastor of the Atlantic Church of Christ, officiating. Interment will be in the Atlantic cemetery.
