Mrs. Edna Malone, Lifelong Cass Resident, Dies

Mrs. Edna Estelle Malone, wife of the late Charles Edward Malone, died at 11:55 p.m. Friday at Heritage House, where she had resided the last five years. She had been in failing health the last 10 years.

A lifelong Cass county resident, Mrs. Malone was born in the county May 3, 1886, the daughter of Edward E. and Margaret A. Acker Harris. She was married to Mr. Malone April 18, 1906, and he died in 1945. Mrs. Malone was a member of the Atlantic First United Methodist church, past president of the BPO Does and a member of the Royal Neighbors.

Surviving are a son, Claude Malone of Atlantic; four grandchildren, five great-grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, a son, Cecil Malone; three sisters, Effa Harris Smith, Myrtle Harris and Maria Harris Karwal and three brothers, Lester, Ira and Leo Harris.

Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Monday at the Roland Funeral home, with Rev. John A. Lippincott officiating. Burial will be in the Atlantic cemetery. The family will meet friends and relatives at the Roland funeral home from 7:30-9 p.m. Sunday.
