WELL KNOWN LADY PASSES AWAY AT AN EARLY HOUR TODAY

Mrs. J. M. Lloyd Dies at Her Home, 803 Oak street, at 7:40 This A. M.; Funeral Tomorrow.

Mrs. Mary Elizabeth Lloyd, wife of J. M. Lloyd, died at 7:40 this morning at her home, 803 Oak street, where she had lived for six years. She was sixty-five and had been a resident of Cass county for forty-two years. Death was the result of paralysis of the bowels, which followed a fractured hip, sustained three months ago.

Born in Pennsylvania.

Mrs. Lloyd, whose maiden name was Mary Elizabeth Stahl, was born in Westmoreland county, Penn., on the 31st day of May, 1858, being the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Andrew Stahl, and she was married on the 18th of April, 1879 to Lewis W. Karns, who died April 21, 1881. To this union was born one child, Mrs. Bruce Cunningham, of 605 Elm street.

Married Second Time.

Deceased was married the second time on the 20th of December 1883, to John M. Lloyd, coming to Cass county and settling on a farm in Bear Grove township, where they lived for nearly thirty-six years. About six years ago they sold their farm and moved to the home at 803 Oak street where she died.

Eight Children by Second Marriage

To this union there were born eight children who, with the husband, survive her. The children are Mrs. Frank Matthews of Omaha; Harry M. Lloyd of Atlantic; Mrs. Elmer Berry and Mrs. Guy Corbin of near Creston; Ralph J. Lloyd of Council Bluffs; Willis M. Lloyd of Atlantic; Mrs. Andrew Love of near Creston; Mrs. Verne Wilkins of Atlantic.

She also leaves two brothers, Michael Stahl of Sacramento, Cal., and Eli Stahl of Latrobe, Pa.

Funeral Tomorrow.

Funeral services will be held tomorrow afternoon at 2:30 at the late home, the Rev. J. E. Ball of the Congregational church officiating, and interment will be in the Atlantic cemetery.
