SECOND PARALYTIC STROKE FATAL TO MRS. J. O. FUDGE

Pioneer of Cass County Dies Last Night at Atlantic Hospital After Long Illness.

Mrs. Florence Fudge wife of J. O. Fudge, Sunnyside park custodian and pioneer of Cass county, died a 6:04 last night at the Atlantic hospital following complications of a second paralytic stroke which she suffered earlier in the day. Mrs. Fudge had been in ill health for some time. She was 66 years old.

Mrs. Fudge was born at Mechanicsburg, Ill., March 15, 1863, and came to Cass County in 1884. She was married to J. O. Fudge on Jan. 28, 1886, near Atlantic and following their marriage lived on a farm seven miles west of Atlantic, later moving to a farm near Lewis. In 1902 they removed to Atlantic where they have lived since.

This union was blessed with eight children, two having preceded her in death. The other children are Mrs. Earl Smiley of Dallas Center, Mrs. R. C. Durr of Stuart, Mrs. E. E. Shaw of Indianola, Mrs. Jerome Booth of Des Moines, Robert S. Fudge of Houston, Tex., and Joseph Fudge Jr. of Atlantic. Other survivors besides [one] husband are fourteen grandchildren; two half brothers, Walter Miller of Amarillo, Tex., and Clyde Miller; two half sisters, Miss Lulu Miller and Mrs. M. Freed, all of Los Angeles, Cal., and her stepmother, Mrs. Fannie Miller, also of Los Angeles.

Funeral services will be held Monday afternoon at the Methodist Episcopal church. The Rev. Warren H. Meredith will officiate and interment will be in the Atlantic cemetery.
