MRS. L. H. SOPER PASSES AWAY

Well Known Woman Passes Away About Ten O’clock This Morning After Long Illness with a Compilation [Complication] of Troubles

Mrs. L. H. Soper died about ten o’clock this morning at the home of Mrs. Helmer, at 502 Cedar street, after an illness extending over several years and as a result of a complication of troubles. Deceased was a well known and respected lady and was an old resident of Cass county. She was about 59 years of age. Her maiden name was Mary Hedley [Headley] and she leaves two brothers and one sister, one brother and the sister at Lebanon, Mo., and the other brother near Griswold. Her husband died about eight years ago. She is survived by six children. The children are Mrs. Wm. Neth of this county; Mrs. E. G. Beck of South Omaha; Mrs. Lee Prall of this city; Mrs. Fred Lowe of Nebraska; Ira Soper near Anita and Lou Soper, recently of Payette, Ida.

She was a good woman who had a wide acquaintance and a large number of friends who with the sorrowing ones mourn her death.

The funeral services will be held on Wednesday afternoon at the Congregational church, the hour of which will be announced later.

DEATH OF MRS SOPER

PASSED AWAY AT 10 O’CLOCK THIS MORNING

HEART FAILURE WAS CAUSE

Funeral Services Will Be Held From the Congregational Church Wednesday

At ten o’clock this morning Mrs. L. H. Soper suddenly passed away at the home of C. J. Helmer 502 Cedar street. For the past eight years Mrs. Soper has not been well but she was not confined to her bed until of late. For several months past she has very bad and death, while not unexpected, was a great shock coming as it did when her sons and the others who have been at her bedside, thought she was somewhat improved.

Mrs. Soper was formerly Miss Elizabeth Headley and was born in Bureau county, Illinois, Feb. 19, 1851. She moved to Cass county when a child and was married to Leonard H. Soper in June 1867. To this union six children were born, two boys and five girls. Ira and Lou the two sons, are residents of Anita. Mrs. Wm. Neth living south of Atlantic, Mrs. G. E. Beck of Omaha, Mrs. Lee Prall of Atlantic and Mrs. Fred Lowe of Nebraska. Mr. Soper died March 9th 1902. Besides the children living she leaves two brothers, Eliel Headley of Griswold and Hudson Headley of Lebanon, Mo., and one sister, Mrs. F. D. Mane, of Lebanon Mo.

The funeral services will be held in the Congregational church of this city Wednesday afternoon at 2 o’clock. Rev. Don Charles of Kansas City, Mo., will preach the funeral sermon and the remains laid to rest in the Atlantic cemetery.
