JOHN M’MAHON, 91, PROMINENT WIOTA RESIDENT, IS DEAD

Was a Native of Ireland and Pioneer of County. Funeral to Be Held Wednesday.

John McMahon, 91, one of the oldest residents of Cass county and an early pioneer of the Wiota community, passed away at 8:30 this morning at his home in Wiota from complications incident to his advanced age. Mr. McMahon had been in poor health for some time and had been in a critical condition for more than a week.

Came to U. S. 66 Years Ago.

Mr. McMahon was born in Ireland, in 1840. He came to the United States 66 years ago with his parents, the late Mr. and Mrs. Martin McMahon. Mr. McMahon had resided in the Wiota community most of the time since coming to this country and had live in Wiota for the last 20 years. He was a retired farmer.

Leaves Four Children.

Mrs. McMahon died on July 15, 1930. Surviving are four children, Walter, John and Martin McMahon of near Wiota and Miss Mamie McMahon at home. Three grandchildren and one sister. Mrs. Mary McKinney of Pittsburgh, Pa., also survive.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday morning at 10:30 at St. Joseph’s Catholic church in Wiota. Rev. Father M. J. O’Connor will have charge of the rites and burial will be in the Atlantic Catholic cemetery.
