Ray Malone, 65, Former Atlantic Resident, Dies

Harold Raymond (Ray) Malone, 65, of San Francisco, former Atlantic resident, died yesterday in the veterans hospital at San Francisco after an illness of three weeks. He had been in a critical condition the last week, and his nephew, Claude Malone, returned Saturday night after spending several days at his bedside.

Mr. Malone was born Aug. 5, 1891, the son of Bernard and Rebecca McGee Malone. He was married to Dorothy Paulsen and farmed near Cumberland prior to moving to Ellensburg, Wash., in February 1930. He had lived in California since 1935 and since 1942 in San Francisco, where he had been associated with a fertilizer firm. Mr. Malone was a World war I veteran and a member of Atlantic B. P. O. Elks lodge.

Mrs. Malone died in April 1941 [1940]. He was preceded in death by two brothers Charles E. Malone, former Atlantic postmaster and S. M. Malone and a sister, Charlotte. Surviving are a niece, Mrs. Mary Krohn and three nephews, Claude, Cecil and Richard Malone, all of Atlantic.

Funeral services will be held in San Francisco Wednesday afternoon at 1 o’clock and the remains will be brought to Atlantic for burial. Local arangements [arrangements] will be announced later.
