Former Cass County Man, Once in Banking Business at Wiota, Dies at Home in Laurel, Mont., So Word Received Here Informs Brother.
J. O. Fudge of this city received a telegram this morning telling of the death at Laurel, Mont., of his brother, Robert S. Fudge, formerly a well known resident of this county, being for a good many years in the banking business at Wiota. The word came as a shock to the local relatives as they had a letter only a day or two ago in which Mr. Fudge stated that both he and his wife were enjoying splendid health. He was in the shoe business at Laurel and was doing well.
The particulars of his death were not learned, but it is assumed that it [was sudden from the contents of a ] letter received so recently. Mr. Fudge [was sudden from the contents of the] was 50 years of age and leaves his wife and no children. J. O. Fudge of this city is his only brother and Mrs. A. W. Sarsfield is a sister. The funeral will be held and the interment made at Laurel. Mr. Fudge and Mrs. Sarsfield leave this evening for Montana to attend the funeral which will be held Wednesday.
