Mrs. Trede Dead.

Mrs. Chas. Trede died Sunday afternoon shortly after three o’clock at her home on north Linn street after a long sickness. The cause of her death was cancer, for which no cure could be found. She had been sick for many months and many remedies were tried but nothing would furnish relief. Late last summer the deceased was taken to Des Moines in the hopes that an operation might be performed with would check the disease, but the surgeons refused to perform the operation as they said it would do no good. She gradually became worse and finally, as a last resort, an operation was preformed but it failed of its object. She became gradually weaker and weaker and at last life ebbed away. The deceased had reached the age of 61 years, having spent 38 in this country, the first 28 years of her life being spent in Germany the land of her birth. She was among the oldest residents of this city coming here in 1871. She leaves six children surviving her, four daughters, Mrs. Henry Jacobson, Mrs. William Goodge, Mrs. Liston Collins and Mrs. Fred Schuld, and two sons, William and John Trede. The funeral will occur from the late residence at 1 o’clock tomorrow and from the German Lutheran church, corner of Seventh and Wanut [Walnut], at 1:30, and the remains will be interred in the Atlantic cemetery.
