RESIDENT OF CASS SINCE 1868 DIES

Philip E. Johnson, Invalid for Two Years, Passes at Marne.

MARNE, Ia., Mar. 30. —(Special to news-Telegraph)—Philip E. Johnson, a resident of Cass county since 1868, died at his home here at 1:30 a. m. Sunday at the age of 71. Paralysis was the cause of death. He had been bedfast about two years.

The deceased was born in Virginia, Jan. 28, 1854. He came to Cass county in 1868 with his parents Thomas J. Johnson and wife. He was a resident, of Marne for thirty-eight years. A brother, R. M. Johnson, and a sister, Miss Ella Johnson, survive.

Funeral services will be held tomorrow afternoon (Tuesday) at the Marne M. P. church, and interment will be in the Brighton cemetery.

NOTE FROM CONTRIBUTOR: Philip Johnson was born January 28, 1854 and died March 29, 1925.
