John Fuhlendorf, Former Atlantic Bottler, Dies

Funeral services were held Tuesday in Huntington Park, Calif., for John F. Fuhlendorf, 80, former Atlantic business man who died at his Huntington Park home Friday. He had been in failing health three years.

Mr. Fuhlendorf was born on a farm at Mayville, Ia., Jan. 5, 1872 and came with his parents that year to a farm west of Marne. Later the family moved to Atlantic, where he attended public schools and in 1903 he purchased the Atlantic Bottling works. He was associated with the late Fred Durr in the business and his brother, the late Chris G. Fuhlendorf, later became a member of the firm. The bottling company was sold to Tyler Brothers in 1929.

Mr. Fuhlendorf had resided in California a number of years. He was a member of Atlantic B. P. O. Elks lodge 445.

Surviving are the widow, the former Maude Dunn of Atlantic and two sisters, Mrs. M. C. Cardio and Mrs. Minnie Hafele of Atlantic.
