MRS. CLYDE KITCHEN

ATLANTIC – Mrs. Clyde Kitchen, 75, 501 Cedar Street, Atlantic, died unexpectedly at 9:30 a.m. Tuesday, July 2, at the Atlantic Memorial Hospital, where she had been a patient ten days. She was the window [widow] of a former Carroll businessman.

The funeral was scheduled for 10 a.m. Friday at the Roland Funeral Home in Atlantic, with the Rev. Lester Hancock of Woodward officiating. Burial was in the Atlantic Cemetery.

Surviving are three sons, Dr. Claire Kitchen, Oskaloosa; Dr. Carl Kitchen, Cedar Rapids; and Merle Kitchen, Katonah, N. Y.; two daughters, Shirley Kitchen, Atlantic, and Mrs. Al Younger, Anaheim, Calif.; 13 grandchildren, four great-grandchildren; five brothers, A. M. Acker, Wiota; Clifton Acker, Griswold; Clayton and Clarence Acker, Atlantic; and LeRoy Acker, Massena.

She was born May 3, 1888, in Cass County, a daughter of Thaddeus and Ida Elizabeth Noyer. She married Clyde Kitchen June 12, 1912, near Atlantic. He died Aug. 3, 1940.

Mrs. Kitchen was a former Cass County school teacher; was a member of the Methodist Church and the Order of the Eastern Star.
