Horse Breeder In Area Dies

O. E. (Dad) Fudge, 78, long-time horse breeder of the East Idaho area, died in a hospital at Blackfoot late Wednesday afternoon.

He was born, March 21, 1878 at Marne, Iowa, son of William and Sarah Matheny Fudge. He grew up on a farm there. On Dec. 12, 1900 he was married to Miss Ann Cecelia Shearer. They lived on a farm near Lewis, Iowa, until 1908 when he came to Idaho Falls. He farmed for a few years in the New Sweden area and then moved into Idaho Falls where he has lived most of the time since. He was active in horse breeding and was known all over the Upper Snake River Valley for his fine horses.

He is survived by his wife, Anna C. Fudge of Idaho Falls and the following sons and daughters: Fred W. Fudge, Englewood, Calif.; Mrs. Ernest (Louetta) Powell, Idaho Falls; Wayne O. Fudge, El Segundo, Calif.; Clarence A. Fudge, Hermosa Beach, Calif.; Carlyle Fudge, West Covine, Calif.

Funeral services will be Monday at 2 p.m. at Trinity Methodist Church with the Rev. Henry L. Haines officiating. Interment will be in Rose Hill Cemetery under the direction of the Buck Chapel.
