Funeral services for T. W. Acker, father of Mrs Clyde Kitchen, were held yesterday afternoon at his late home seven miles southeast of Atlantic. The Rev. William Mack, pastor of the Union Park Presbyterian church at Des Moines, formerly pastor of the Atlantic Presbyterian church, delivered the sermon before a large gathering of relatives and friends. A Masonic quartet sang two of Mr. Acker’s favorite hymns, “That Beautiful Land” and “Remember Me”.

Thaddeus Wakefield Acker, a prominent farmer of Grove township for more than half a century and a native of Pennsylvania, died at 10 o’clock Sunday morning in the home where he had lived for the last 32 years. Death was due to complications from which he had been suffering for the last seven months. He had been bedfast for the last seven weeks.

He also leaves five brothers, C. M. and J. F. Acker of Atlantic, Ed Acker of Fontanelle, Charles Acker of Chicago and H. C. Acker of Los Angeles, ten grandchildren and one great grandchild.
