DIED FROM HIS INJURIES

George Clarence Acker Died Last Night as the Result of a Kick by a Horse.

George Clarence Acker of Bear Grove township, who was kicked by a horse the first of the week, died at the hospital last night as a result of the injury received. He was hitching up the horse to break it when it kicked him in the abdomen. The injury would have been serious enough under ordinary circumstances but the fact that he had been operated upon for appendicitis made it more serious and nothing could save his life. He lay in fearful pain for two days. The deceased was 26 years of age. He was born and raised in Cass county and grew to manhood on the farm, coming to Atlantic he took a course in the business college and graduated but returned to the farm. His father died last January and since that time, he and another brother had been living with their mother and taking care of the farm. His habits were exemplary and his conduct above reproach. He was one of that class of young men whom the entire community mourn when they die and the nine brothers and one sister and sorrowing mother have the hearfelt [heartfelt] sympathy of the entire community. The funeral services will be held tomorrow afternoon at 2 o’clock from the Presbyterian church, Rev George officiating and interment will be made in the Atlantic cemetery.
