[GERTRUDE] BERTRUDE BUCKNELL

ALEXANDRIA – Gertrude Bucknell, 83, passed away at a Mitchell nursing home Friday.

She was born to Mr. and Mrs. A. W. Bowling, Decorah, Iowa, Oct. 13, 1893.

She is survived by one son, Robert Bucknell, Sioux Falls; five daughters, Mrs. Clarence (Geneive [Genevieve]) Fox, Mitchell; Mrs. J. B. (Lucy) Schultz, Mitchell; Mrs. Howard (Marcella) Bennett, Mitchell; Mrs. Mardella Turner, Rapid City; Mrs. Alvin (Lavon) Lau, Aberdeen.

She also is survived by 20 grandchildren and 20 greatgrandchildren.

Funeral services will be Monday, May 23, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Alexandria, with burial in St. Martin’s Cemetery, Emery.

Fr. Joseph Deskiewicz will officiate.

She was preceded in death by her husband Jack.

Scripture reading will be at 8 p.m. at Montgomery Funeral Home, and visitation Sunday and Monday until time of services.
