R. A. Berry, 83, Native of Cass County, Dies

Robert Anderson (Andy) Berry, 83, Atlantic retired farmer and lifelong resident of this community, died at 7 o’clock last evening. He had been in failing health two years.

The son of John W. and Harriett Bell Berry, he was born near Marne Sept. 7, 1870, and was married to Grace Marr Doop in Atlantic Nov. 17, 1928. Mrs. Berry died Dec. 31, 1943. Mr. Berry was a 50-year member of Atlantic IOOF lodge No. 80, the Rebekah lodge, and Hawkeye encampment.

Surviving are two stepsons, Russell L. Doop of Buffalo, Wyo., and Roy M. Doop of Des Moines, and a sister Mrs. Iona Burbank of Dunham, Cal. He was preceded in death by four sisters, Mrs. Sherman Peterson, Mrs. John Peterson, Mrs. J. B. Burkey and Edith Berry, and two brothers, William B. Berry and Clarence Berry.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday at the Roland funeral home, the Rev. Leonard Tinker officiating. The remains will be at the funeral home until the service hour and interment will be in the Atlantic cemetery.
