February 7, 1911MRS. HARRIETT BERRY OF MARNE DEAD.
Mrs. Harriett Berry of Marne, Ia., died this morning at 8 a. m. suffering with pneumonia. Mrs. Berry had been ill about ten days, She was the wife of J. W. Berry.
Mrs Berry was born October 17, 1836 in Menard county, Ill. Her parents were Jacob and Polly Bell, he a Kentuckian and she a Virginian. They lived a long time in Illinois and odied [died] there. Deceased was married January 6, 1859 to John W. Berry. They lived on a farm in Illinois, until 1867 when they moved to Brighton township Cass county, coming from Des Moines to Atlantic by team. The have always lived on this farm. Mrs. Berry was the mother of ten children, five of whom are still living. They are: Mary J., wife of J. D. Peterson of this county, William B. a farmer of this community, Robert A., Jr., now working in this city, Cordelia B., wife of J. B. Burkey of Walnut and Iona A., wife of Manley Dunham of Portland, Oregon.
The funeral will be held Thursday at 1 o’clock at the M. P. church at Marne and interment will be in the Brighton cemetery.
