Burial will be in the Atlantic cemetery and the local chapter of the Eastern Star, of which deceased was a Past Worthy Matron, will have its regular ritual at the grave, weather permitting. Mrs. Barnard, who was one of the best known and best liked women in the city, died at noon yesterday at the family home, 1009 Birch street, after an illness of six months duration with complications.

Born In the County

Mrs. Barnard, who was the daughter of Robert Anderson and Virginia Johnson Berry, was born on the 11th of August, 1879, three and a half miles southwest of Marne. She was married on the 29th of December, 1909, in this city to William H. Barnard and they have made their home here since. She leaves her sorrowing husband and one son, Berry Barnard, ten years old. She was a member of the local Congregational church and of the Order of Eastern Star, in the local chapter of which, as stated, she was a past Worthy Matron. She was of an unselfish nature and during her long illness her thought was always of others, bearing her sufferings with fortitude and never complaining. Besides her husband and son she leaves her father, R. A. Berry, four sisters, Mesdames G. H. Collier, G. H. Allen and R. F. Neal of this city, and Mrs. C. F. Miller of Jefferson, Iowa, and on brother, J. O. Berry, of this city. Two sisters and one brother preceded her in death. Her mother died in March of 1915.
