Argyle F. Berry

The passing of Argyle F. Berry removes another of the “old guard,” who helped lay the foundations of the splendid empire this section now is. The last of a family of sturdy brothers who early in life emigrated from Illinois to help in the establishment of things here, he gave freely of himself to the building of things. Here he reared his family; here he grew old and paid the debt all mankind must pay. He did not achieve fame or greatness as the world reckons those things. He did not amass wealth in dollars and cents, but he accumulated a wealth of esteem on the part of those with whom his daily life brought him in contact.

He leaves the heritage of a useful and well lived life. No dishonorable action ever stained his character; no failure to meet all the obligations of his life fairly and squarely ever marred his record.

The story of the development of this section is made up of the narratives of many such as he, unsung heroes, pioneers who helped conquer the wild and lay the foundations and development here.

May, he rest in peace.
