Mrs. Harm Willms, 77, Dies Here Wednesday

Mrs. Mary Willms, 77, wife of Harm Willms, died Wednesday at 4 o'clock at her home at 706 Elm street. She had been in failing health two years ago, and seriously ill the last week.

The daughter of John and Maggie Schlicht, she was born in Tama June 16, 1877 and was married to Mr. Willms in Chickasaw county, Miss. March 16, 1896. They lived there three years prior to coming to Iowa in a covered wagon and locating on a farm west of Atlantic, where they resided until moving to their present home in 1948. Mrs. Willms was baptized in the Lutheran faith.

Surviving besides the husband are a son, John Willms; a daughter, Maggie Willms, both of Atlantic; three sisters, Mrs. Maggie Nelson and Mrs. Lizzie Willms of Atlantic and Mrs. Lena Jones of Blytheville, Ark.; three brothers, Honas and Willis Schlicht of Nettleton, Miss.; one grandson and a great grandson. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Jerry and Hans Schlicht; and three sisters, Mrs. Annie Linkletter, Mrs. Jane Willms and Phoebe Garvin.

Funeral services will be held Saturday afternooon at 2:30 at the Roland funeral home, the Rev. H.G. Dohrmann officiating. The remains will be at the funeral home until the service hour and interment will be in the Atlantic cemetery.
