Mrs. Elizabeth Acker Passed Away Friday

Funeral Services to be Held on Monday at 11 o'clock at the Home of Thad Acker, Southeast of The City.

The death of Mrs. Elizabeth Acker occurred at the Acker home, four miles southeast of the city, yesterday. She was seventy-nine years of age at the time of her death. The funeral services will be held at the home of her son, Thad Acker, at 11 o'clock Monday morning. Rev. J. C. Giffen will have charge of the services, and interment will be made in the Atlantic cemetery.

Elizabeth Giest was born at Martinsburg, Blair county, Pennsylvania, in the 1837. In 1860 she was united in marriage to George S. Acker, and the young couple moved to Benton county, Iowa, where they lived for about a year, later moving to Cedar county, where they resided for eight years, and then came to Cass county, where they continued to reside. Her husband's death occurred at the home four miles southeast of town on January 28th, 1906. Eleven children were born to Mr. and Mrs. Acker, all but one being left to mourn the death of their mother.

The children are Mrs. E. C. Harris of this city, T. W. Acker, C. M. Acker, J. F. Acker and D. E. Acker, all of this vicinity; H. M. Acker of Geneva, Neb.; C. H. Acker of Chicago, Ill.; W. S. Acker of Grand Junction, Colo.; H. C. Acker of Shickley, Neb.; and J. C. Acker of Des Moines, Ia. The youngest son, George C. Acker died on October 20th, 1906. There are eighteen grandchildren and seven great grandchildren who are also left to mourn the death.
