FORMER WALNUT WOMAN DIES

The death of Mrs. Christina Westfall occured at her late home in Atlantic Tuesday afternoon of last week. She has been ailing since Christmas and the death was caused by old age and a general breakdown. She was 86 years and 3 months of age at the time of her death. Her husband, Charles Westfall, died twelve years ago this month.

Deceased was born in Mecklenburg, Germany on August 16, 1833. In 1853 she came to America with her father and they settled near Rochester, New York. There she was married in 1857 to Charles Westfall and in 1864 the young couple moved to a farm near Iowa City, where they lived until 21 years ago, when they again moved to a farm near Walnut. Here they lived until Mr. Westfall's death twelve years ago. His wife then moved to Walnut where she lived until 1912 when she moved to Atlantic.

She leaves seven children to mourn her death. They are Mrs. S. L. Felt of Atlantic, Mrs. John Feldman of Atlantic, Charles Westfall of Iowa City, Mrs. Minnie Holderness of Riverside, Iowa, Mrs. Christina Lehnhard living south of Walnut, Mrs. Anna Jahnke of Davenport, Iowa, and Eb Westfall of Grettinger, Iowa.

She was laid to rest beside her husband in the Lincoln Township Cemetery.
