ED BALLENSIEFER Dies at County Hospital

EDWARD J. BALLENSIEFER, 70, lifelong Wiota resident, died at 1:40 this morning at the Cass County Memorial hospital shortly after having been admitted. He had been in failing health for several years.

Mr. Ballensiefer was born in Wiota Feb. 8, 1896, the son of AUGUST and CAROLINE BALLENSIEFER. He was married to DOLLIE TUTTLE Feb. 15, 1927. Mr. Ballensiefer was a member of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Wiota and had made his home with a sister, Mrs. MILTON BRUNER of Wiota, the last ten years.

Surviving are two sisters, Mrs. ERNEST BURKE of Anita and Mrs. Bruner. He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers, WILLIAM, HENRY, and FRANK BALLENSIEFER and two sisters, Mrs. EFFIE BURKE and MARY BALLENSIEFER.

Funeral services will be held at 9:30 a.m. Monday at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Wiota, with Father Joseph Devlin officiating. Interment will be in the Atlantic Catholic cemetery. A prayer service will be held at the Roland funeral home here Sunday evening at 8 o’clock.
