From the November 7, 1935, issue of the Jasper County Record (p.10, col.3&4)
"Funeral services for Thomas W. Trent, 44, were conducted from the Morgan Funeral Home, Saturday at 2pm by Dr. J. Irvine Walker pastor of the First Congregational Church. Mr. Trent, resident of Newton for seven years, died Thursday evening at the Skiff Hospital following a three week illness of the flu and complications. He and his son Jasper operated the Newton Glass Factory which they opened recently."
Thomas W. Trent is the son of William Wesley and Lucy Trent of Lewis.
