Miss Bessie Chenoweth and Mr. Arthur Trailor were married at high noon on New Year’s Day at the home of the bride’s parents, Mr. and Mrs. G. H. Chenoweth on Chestnut street. Miss Carrie Hupp played the wedding march and at the appointed hour the officiating clergyman, Rev. I. N. Woodward of the Methodist church led the bridal couple to their places under a wedding bell and there pronounced the solemn words which made them husband and wife. The bride was charmingly gowned in white Persian lawn and carried bridal roses. After the good wishes and congratulations had been offered the happy bride and groom, everyone was invited to join in the sumptuous dinner which was served.
The company present was made up of the relatives of the young people and a few intimate friends. The bridegroom’s parents, Mr. and Mrs. Trailer and his brother and sister of Marne were present, also Mr. and Mrs. Allen of Marne and Mr. and Mrs. Woods of Walnut. Mr. and Mrs. George Tiffey of Omaha, cousins of the bride, were present and with these people the young couple left on the evening train for a few days visit. Miss Chenowith had made many friends in Atlantic during the two years that the Chenowith family have made their home here. She has been active in the Epworth League and the Sunday school of the Methodist church and her friends in these organizations are pleased that they are still to have her winsome and ladylike presence among them. Mr. Trailor is employed in the Bojen’s hardware establishment and is an exemplary young man whom Atlantic is pleased to number among its permanent citizens.
