MARRIED AT THE CHRISTIAN CHURCH

JOHNSON-HARRIS WEDDING

Marriage of Well Known Atlantic Girl Occurred Last Evening.

The marriage of Miss Reta Johnson, daughter of Sam Johnson, to Mr. Floyd Harris of Harrisdale, occurred last evening at 8 o’clock at the Christian church. Rev E E Mack was the officiating clergyman. The church was crowded and there was a large number of out of town guests here to attend the ceremony. Pink and white decorations were used at the church.

Prior to the ceremony there was a short program of music, including the following: Duet by Misses Florence and Rozella Barnes; solo by Miss Rozella Barnes.

While Miss flounce[Florence] Barnes played the wedding march the groom and best man, Mr. Lee Crane, entered the church from a side door and the six bridesmaids entered from the other side. They met at the center aisle and marched through the aisle to the vestibule, where they met the bride and her maid of honor, Miss Mary Christensen, and preceded them to the altar. Miss Naomi Sims, cousin of the bride, was the ring bearer, being dressed as cupid carrying a bow and quiver of arrows, the ring being carried on the tip of an arrow. The bridesmaids were Misses Nellie Thomas, Eva Lowman, Leta Mountain, Jesse Werner, Minnie Ulbrich, and Vera Durr. The two flower girls were the twin Brown girls Margueri, e [Marguerite] and Miriam. They carried baskets laden with flowers. The ring ceremony was used. The Sims girl presented the ring to the minister, Rev Mack, who performed the ceremony according to the Christian church ritual. The flower girls strewed flowers in the pathway of the bridal party as they retired from the church The bride and groom left the city at 8:45 for a short western trip of ten days or two weeks. They will visit at different points in western Nebraska.

The bride’s gown was made of white satin and the maid of honor was gowned in pink. The bridesmaids were dressed in white with pink sashes. Each of the bridesmaids wore a gold brooch, the gift of the bride and groom, and the best man a handsome scarf pin, given him by the groom.

The happy couple will make their home at Harrisdale north of the city after their return from the honeymoon trip.
