Wedded Yesterday

At 1 o’clock yesterday afternoon in the presence of twenty-eight relatives and close friends of the contracting parties, the Rev. William Mack of the Presbyterian church said the words uniting in marriage Miss Edith Harris and Harold P. Hansen, well known young people.

The ceremony was performed at the home of the bride’s parents, Mr. and Mrs. C. W. Harris, 801 Mulberry street, the ring service being used. The young people were attended by Ellery Harris, twin brother of the bride, as groomsman, and Mrs. Charles Blakesley, herself a recent bride, as bridesmaid. Little Irene Hansen, sister of the groom, was the ring bearer, carrying the jewel on a cushion of ribbon and lace.

The wedding vows were said under a bower of pink and white crepe paper with banks for ferns and potted plants on either side. Mrs. Ralph McFarland played the wedding march, Mendelssohn’s, and before the ceremony Miss Evalyn Willard sang “I Love You Truly,” and “At Dawning.”

The bride was gowned in blue georgette, trimmed with silver lace and carried a shower bouquet of white roses. The bridesmaid wore orchid satin crepe. Following the ceremony a two-course wedding luncheon prepared by the girl friends of the bride, was served the guests. The center of the bride’s table was occupied by a large angel food cake in the center of which was a tiny dove bearing two rings in its beak.

Mr. and Mrs. Hansen have gone to Omaha on a short wedding trip. They will make their home for the present with the bride’s parents, at 801 Mulberry street.

The bride, a graduate of the Atlantic high school in the class of 1924, was a national honor student in that school. The groom, the son of Mrs. H. P. Hansen, 700 East Fifth street, is a well known local musician. Both are popular with a large number of friends who wish them well in their married life.
