POPULAR YOUNG PEOPLE WED

MISS ABBIE G. ACKER, DAUGHTER OF MR. AND MRS. THAD ACKER, WEDS CLYDE KITCHEN.

Were Wed This Afternoon at Two o’clock in Presence of Large Number of Relatives and Friends.

At two o’clock this afternoon at the home of the bride’s parents, Mr. and Mrs. Thad Acker, living about four miles southeast of town, Miss Abbie G. Acker became the bride of Mr. Clyde Kitchen. The ceremony was performed by Rev. Berry in the presence of about one hundred and fifty relatives and friends of the contracting parties. The home was beautifully decorated with ribbons and flowers, the color scheme of pink and white being carried out in the decorations.

To the strains of Mendelssohn’s wedding march, played by Miss Helen Graham, the bridal party took their places on the veranda which was very prettily decorated. The bride was attended by Miss Martha Bateman as maid of honor and by the Misses Estelle Hoffman, Winona Judd and Rinnie Judd as bridesmaids. The groom was served by Arleigh M. Acker, brother of the bride, as groomsman. The bride was gowned in white marquisette and carried a bouquet of bride’s roses. The maid of honor was also gowned in white and the bridesmaids were gowned in pink and white. After the ceremony a bountiful dinner was sreved [served] in two courses.

Both bride and groom are well and favorably known, having grown to young manhood and young womanhood in this community. The bride has been a successful teacher in the rural schools for several years and the groom is a successful farmer.

Mr. and Mrs. Kitchen will make their home on a farm about six miles southeast of here. They received many splendid presents and will carry with them into their new home the best wishes of a large number of friends.
