ANITA YOUNGSTER
TORPEDOES CHEEK

--------

Lewis Kline, three years old, son
of Mr. and Mrs. Wallie Kline, who
live in a farm near Anita, bit a tor-
pedo yesterday about noon and shat-
tered his right cheek. He had been
given the torpedo to keep him quiet
while the barber cut his hair.

Little Lewis would not sit still to
have his curls trimmed. Candy was
offered him but that did not suit his
fancy. Nothing would do but a tor-
pedo. Finally this was promised him
and as soon as the ordeal was over
he marched into an Anita restaurant
and proudly purchased the desired
plaything. Going out onto the street
he thot it looked good enough to eat
He put it into his mouth and took
abite. The explosion which followed
almost tore his right cheek off.

The wound was dressed and was
bound up without having to take
any stitches. The little fellow suffer-
ed considerable pain but is doin as
well as could be expected.--Atlan-
tic News-Telegraph.

Note: Parents of Lewis Kline were Wallace Winfield "Wally" Kline and Emma M. Schmidt.
