This certifies that on the 10th day of May 1884 at Atlantic in said County, and according to the law and by authority, I duly JOINED IN MARRIAGE Mr. Chris Peterson and Miss Elsie Mary Peterson. Given under my hand the 10th day of May A.D. 1884.

NOTE: Chris Peterson (Christen Pedersen) was born Aug. 2, 1844 in Haals, Aalborg, Denmark and immigrated to Atlantic in 1869. His bethroved, Karen Marie (Mary) Pedersen, followed in 1870 and they were married. Mary died in 1872 and Christen later married Mary's sister, Elsie Marie Pedersen. Their shared gravestone may be found on Iowagravestones.org, Atlantic Cemetery.
