CLAUSEN/CLAUSSEN, HOLMER - Johann Claus CLAUSEN/CLAUSSEN(anglicized: John), b abt 1813 Schleswig-Holstein,Demark/Germany; wife #1 Anna HOLMER; d. 4 Feb 1883, Breda,Carroll County, Iowa; buried Wheatland Cemetery, Carroll County, Iowa; sons: Peter John CLAUSEN, Claus Holmer CLAUSEN, Hennig CLAUSEN, John immigrated to the United States during the mid-1860's and settled in Carroll County. Claus Holmer CLAUSEN bought land, became a farmer and remained in Carroll County for the remainder of his life and did father, John. John became a naturalized citizen of the United States in 1873 according to census records. I would love to exchange information with interested parties. My specific query is: Will someone please offer some guidance as to where I should write to find copies of John's Declaration of Intent and Application for Citizenship. In addition, if anyone has information as to where EXACTLY this family originated in Schleswig-Holstein, that information will be very much appreciated.
