Finding my Great Grandfather

My great Grandparents were Joseph Korth and Dorthea Ebert. Several of their children were born in Arcadia Carrol co. I find them in the 1880 census and the 1885 Iowa census. It is in our oral history that Dorthea was killed by indians in 1887. If anyone has information on them or good places to go look, it would be very much appreciated.
