Frederick Arnold Sporleder. Frederick (Fritz) Arnold Sporleder, 82, of Carroll, died at the St. Francis Memorial Hospital in West Point, Nebraska on Friday, December 2001. Services were Tuesday, December 11, 2001 at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Lidderdale with Military Honors by the Maurice Dunn Post of the American Legion of Carroll. He was born September 20, 1920, the son of Arnold and Gretchen (Faber) Sporleder. He was baptized on October 17, 1920 and confirmed in the Lutheran faith on Aril 14, 1935 at the Immanuel Lutheran Church in Lidderdale. He attended Immanuel Lutheran School and Carroll High School. He married June Bachman on February 18, 1950 at the Central Lutheran Church in Winona, Minnesota. He was a lifelong resident of Carroll County having farmed northeast of Carroll across the road from where he was raised. He retired in 1985. He was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church in Lidderdale where he served as chairman of the congregation for many years, the Lutheran Laymen’s League, and the Carroll Maurice Dunn Post of the American Legion. He was preceded in death by his parents and a daughter Marsha. Survivors include his wife June of rural Carroll; a daughter Joyce (Mark) Lase of Bancroft, Nebraska; a son Mark (Diana) Sporleder of Woodbridge, Virginia; five grandchildren; two sisters, Martha (Richard) Davis of Mt. Dora, Florida and Catherine (Harold) Rudi of Payson, Arizona, one brother Robert (Ardith) Sporleder of Charter Oak; an uncle Carl Faber of Prior Lake, Minnesota and sister-in-law Fern (Bill) Meyer of Huron, South Dakota.
