Manning - Funeral Services for William M. Hass, 69, will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 16, at Zion Lutheran Church here, with the Rev. G. B. Eschenbacher officiating. Burial will be at Manning. The body will be taken to the church at 1 p.m. Saturday from the Ohde Funeral Home. It will not be viewed following the services. Mr. Hass died early Thursday, Jan. 14, at St. Anthony Hospital in Carrol following a short illness. He was born Sept. 13, 1890, in Goodrich Township, Crawford County, a son of C. H. and Marie Mevis Hass. In 1910 he moved with his parents to a farm in Hayes Township, where he farmed until his marriage to Emma Detlefsen at Denison Dec. 5, 1923. They farmed on the same farm until 1957 when they retired and moved to Manning. Surviving are his wife; nine children: Mrs. Warren (Caroline) Wegner, Manning; Mrs. Irma Bock, Des Moines; Mrs. Chris Meislahn (Alice), Gray; Willis Hass, Sioux City; Mrs. Melvin (Pearl) Eischeid, Halbur; Mrs. Alvin (Norma) Hagedorn, Manning; Vernon, at home; Mrs. Robert (Mary Ann) Wessling, Alexandria, Va.; and Robert W. Hass, Audubon; 15 grandchildren; and two sisters, Mrs. Ella Beck, Denison, and Mrs. Tena Otto, Manning. He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Julius Hass.
