A funeral service for Okyon "Peggy" Grimm of Long Prairie, Minn., was held this morning, Monday, May 12, 1997, at Zion Lutheran Church in Manning. Mrs. Grimm, 59, died Friday, May 9, 1997, at her home. Pastor Curt Dwyer will officiate the service. Casket bearers will be Tom Williams, Clark Brasel, Kevin Sporrer, Jamie Grimm, Mike Enenbach and Roger Vollstedt. Burial will be in Manning Cemetery. Ohde Funeral Home of Manning was in charge of arrangements. She was born Dec. 27, 1937, at Kyonggide, Korea, and attended school in Korea through the fourth grade. Because her mother died took care of her sisters and worked in a hardware store. She and Dean Grimm were married July 25, 1966, at the American Embassy in Seoul, South Korea. They moved to a farm near Aspinwall and in 1976 bought a farm and moved to Long Prairie. In 1988 they moved back to the Manning area but returned to Long Prairie a year and a half later. Mrs. Grimm was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church of Long Prairie. Survivors include her husband, Dean, of Long Prairie; two sisters: Cindy Connell of California and Okim Johnston and her husband, Ray, of Greenwood, Ark.; her mother-in-law, Ila Grimm, of Manning; three brothers-in-law and their wives: Curtis and Nancy Grimm of Aspinwall, Bruce and Mary Grimm of Johnston and Alan Grim of Manning; and a sister-in-law, Connie Brasel, and her husband, Dan, of Dunlap. Mrs. Grimm was preceded in death by her father-in-law, Raymond Grimm, and a brother-in-law, Darrell Slate.
