Manning – Funeral services for Ralph Auen, 86, of Manning were held at 1:30 p.m. Sunday at the Ohde Funeral Home, Manning, with Rev. Joel Weright of the Presbyterian Church, Manning, officiating.

Pall bearers were Henry Johnson, Robert Luchtel, Harold Linde, Marvin Linde, Arthur Linde, and Henry Tebben. Burial was in the Arcadia Cemetery under the direction of the Ohde Funeral Home.

Mr. Auen, son of Henry and Janna Freese Auen, was born on March 24, 1891 in Wheatland Township, Carroll County, Iowa. His marriage to Lillie Linde took place on Jan. 12, 1915. She died in 1932. His marriage to Vera Mensing took place on Dec. 3, 1940. He was a farmer most of his life, having lived on farms in the Arcadia area and after 1938 in the Irwin area. He retired to Denison in 1960 and moved to Manning two years ago.

Denison and Vernon Auen of Carroll; two stepsons, Wilbur and William Sanders; two grandchildren, Rollin Auen of Kiron and Joyce Knudson of Boone, six step-grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. Also surviving are three sisters; Angie Linde of Manning, Nellie Grimsman of Carroll and Harmina Luchtel of Breda.

Mr. Auen died at the Manning General Hospital Friday morning.
