Last Rites for W. Vollstedt to Be Held Monday.

Manning- Funeral rites for William Vollstedt, Sr., who died early Friday morning, are to be held at 2 o'clock Monday afternoon at the Ohde Funeral Home, with the Rev. E. G. Otte of Mapleton officiating. Music will be provided by a quartet composed of Mrs. N. C. Schrum, Mrs. Albert Dietz, H. C. Pahde and C. M. Johnson, with Mrs. Henry W. Hagedorn at the organ. Burial will be in the Manning cemetery, and pallbearers will be Grover Bartels, Bert Eich, Herbert Frahm, Mayer Knudson, Herbert Stribe and John Schroeder.

Mr. Vollstedt died at the home of his son, Ray, near Manning, his death resulting from rheumatism. He had been bedfast for about two years. A native of Germany, where he was born July 26, 1875, Mr. Vollstedt came to the United States in 1892. He had lived in this vicinity ever since, having been a farmer all his life. His wife, who was Miss Cecelia Kuhl before her marriage died in 1923. Surviving are the following children: Theodore, William, Hugo, Elsie, Raymond and Virtus, all living near Manning, and Mrs. Clarence Borkowski (Mabel), Botna. His daughter, Elsie, cared for him during his illness. Mr. Vollstedt leaves one brother, Gus, in Michigan, and five brothers in Germany. Three bothers and one sister have passed away in Germany.
