Manning- Mrs. Flossie Hunter, 77, of Carroll, formerly of Manning, died Tuesday, Dec. 9, at St. Anthony Regional Hospital in Carroll. Mass of the resurrection will be celebrated at 1 p.m. Friday at Sacred Heart Church here by the Rev. Norbert Weber, M.S. C. Burial will be in the parish cemetery. Pallbearers will be Tom Volquartsen, Jeffrey Hunter, Paul Volquartsen, Cletus McGrane, Eddie Meiers and Rober Kuhl. The Altar Society of the parish will recite the rosary at 7:30 p.m. Thursday at the Ohde Funeral Home here, followed by an 8:30 Bible service led by Fr. Weber.

Mrs. Hunter was a daughter of Frank and Mary Macke Vollmer. She was born at Templeton May 20, 1898, and attended Templeton and Carroll schools. She was married to Harold Hunter April 8, 1920, and lived in the Manning area all of her married life. About 12 years ago she suffered a stroke and for the last ten years has resided in nursing homes in Carroll. Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Donald (Joyce) Roecker of Denison; five grandchildren; and the following sisters and brothers: Mrs. Margaret Rowedder, Mrs. Isabel Meiers and Paul Vollmer of Manning; Mrs. Loretta Hamill of Santa Rosa, Calif.; Mike Volmer and Franklin Vollmer of Arcadia, Calif.; Mrs. Clara Bargenquast of Perry; Charles Vollmer of Austin, Minn.; and James Vollmer of Cincinnati, Ohio. She was preceded in death by her husband on Aug. 6, 1970; a son, Bill and seven brothers and sisters. Mrs. Hunter was the mother-in-law of Mrs. Penny Hunter of Carroll.
