MARY VENNER

Mary C. (Mrs. Steven) Venner, 90, of Breda died Tuesday, Aug. 15. 1989 at St. Anthony Nursing Home in Carroll.

Mass of the Christian burial will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Friday, Aug. 18. at St. Bernard Church in Breda. Celebrant will be the Rev. Thomas Hart.

Burial will be at St. Bernard Cemetery in Breda.

Lector for the Mass will be Betty Venner. Gift bearers will be Stephanie Smith, Jacqueline Venner, and Channelle Venner. Casket bearers will be James, Tom. Dale and Mark Venner, Frank Smith and Jeffrey Frazier.

Visitation will begin at 2 p.m. Thursday at Sharp Funeral Home in Breda. Rosaries will be recited at the funeral home Thursday at 3 p.m. by the St. Bernard Ladies Guild and at 4 p.m. by the Breda Senior Citizens. There will be a scriptural prayer service by St. Bernard Parish at 8 p.m. Thursday.

Born March 15, 1899, at Danbury, Iowa, Mrs. Venner was a daughter of Frank and Albertina (Sohm) Erlemeier. She spent her younger years in the Danbury community and attended St. Mary School.

On April 12, 1921. she married Steven Venner at St. Mary's Church in Danbury. The couple lived on a farm north of Breda where they remained until their retirement in 1953 when they moved to Breda.
