B. H. Drees has received news of the death of his close friend and hunting pal, and a former Carroll man, W. E. Folken, who died suddenly Saturday afternoon at his home northeast of Lennox, S.D., following an acute heart attack. He was 79 years old, and although he had been ailing for several years, his death was a shock to his family and the community.

Funeral services will be conducted Sunday afternoon at 2 o’clock at the home, with the Rev. F. Petersen, pastor of the local Presbyterian Church officiating. Burial will be made in the Lennox cemetery.

Mr. Folken was united in marriage at Ackley to Miss Anna Hoogestraat. This union was blessed with 11 children. Two died in infancy and a son John died Nov. 8, 1920.
