Oct 27, 1954 - Carroll Daily Times - Peter Connor, 85, who made his home with his cousins: Joseph, Steve, Katherine and Irene Connor, died at 12:13 a.m. Wednesday at the family home, 1003 Simon Avenue. He succumbed to a heart condition after a day's illness.

Funeral services are set for 10 a.m. Friday at the St. Lawrence Church, of which he was a member. Requiem mass will be read by the Rev. Arthur S. Poeckes. Burial will be in Mt. Olivet Cemetery. The body is resting at the Sharp Funeral Home, where the rosary will be recited at 8 o'clock Wednesday and Thursday nights.

Mr. Connor, son of Michael and Mary Connor, was born August 12, 1869, in Westmeith, Ireland. As a young man he came to the United States. He had made his home with his cousins since his arrival here. Besides his four cousins named, he has another cousin in Carroll, John Connors, 1020 Simon Avenue, and one in California, Mrs. Mary Daiker of Santa Ana.

He also leaves a brother, Michael, and sister, Mary, at Westmeith, Ireland.

His parents, one sister and one brother, all of whom lived in Ireland, preceded him in death. Mr. Connor had been engaged in construction work in Carroll and vicinity until he retired in 1948.

Oct 30, 1954 - Carroll Daily Times - Final rites were held at the St. Lawrence Church at 10 o'clock Friday morning for Peter Connor, 86, who died at his home, 1003 Simon Avenue, early Wednesday morning. The Rev. H.D. Costello C.Ss.R., of St. Louis, Mo., offered requiem mass. Burial was in Mt. Olivet Cemetery. Pallbearers were: J.P. Cranny, Ed Miller, B.M. Feld, Lawrence Schwenck, Philip Schwarzkopf, and Walter Heires.

Mr. Connor made his home with his cousins: Joseph, Steve, Katherine, and Irene Connor. He had done construction work until his retirement.

Out-of-town relatives at the rites were his cousin, Mrs. Mary Daiker, Santa Ana, Calif.; Mrs. Frank Brisbois, Mr. and Mrs. Joe Prendergrast and daughter, Monica, and Mr. and Mrs. Charles McLaughlin, Fonda. Among out-of-town friends were Miss Ann O'Boyle, Frank O'Boyle and Richard and Mark O'Boyle, Vail.
