(March 14, 1981 - December 14, 2013)

Andrew Duane Lewis, age 32, of Carroll passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, December 14, 2013 at his home in Carroll.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Wednesday, December 18, 2013 at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Lidderdale with Pastor William Weiss officiating. Friends may call from 5:00 – 7:00 P.M. on Tuesday at the Dahn and Woodhouse Funeral Home in Carroll. The casket will be moved to the church at 9:00 A.M. on Wednesday where visitation will resume until the time of service. Casket bearers will be Rudy Lewis, Mitchell Walters, Albert Carl, T.J. Weeks, Andy Schaben, and Jake Kelkoff. Burial will be in the Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery near Lidderdale.

Born on March 14, 1981 at Shenandoah, Iowa, he was the son of Rodney and Susan (Straw) Lewis. Andrew grew up in southern Iowa and moved Defiance when he was ten years old. Following school he worked as a cook at Wings Truck Stop in Avoca before working for McLaughlin Construction and Schmidt Construction. He was currently enrolled in DMACC to earn a degree in business management. Andrew enjoyed playing catch with his brother and friends in the street in front of their house, barbequing, cooking, camping, and fishing.

Andrew is survived by his fiancé Stacy Sporleder of Carroll; five children: Jordan Jacobsen of Omaha, NE; Kane, Angelica, and Emma Lewis of Carroll, and Xavier Lewis-Sporleder of Carroll; his mother Susan Lewis-Holm and her husband Marc of Defiance, IA; his father Rodney Lewis and his wife Rhonda of Carroll; a brother Rudy Lewis and his wife Candice of Little Sioux, IA; his maternal grandmother Alice Martinez of Irwin, IA; his maternal grandfather Richard Straw of Nebraska City, NE; his paternal grandfather Karen Lewis of Red Oak, IA; a step brother Ryan Pille and his wife Bri of Waterloo, IA; a step sister Lyndsie Kammin and her husband Kevin of Carroll; three nieces and nephews: Becca, Joshua, and Cody; and many aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Andrew was preceded in death by his paternal grandmother Mary Jane Lewis and an aunt Elizabeth Jane Woods.
