Margaret Ann Dales was born July 14, 1868 at Cambridge, Guernsey, Ohio to Andrew William Dales and Mary Gawley, the seventh of their 10 children.

Margaret married William Harvey Wilfong on August 16, 1889 at Harlan, Shelby, Iowa. The couple had 4 children, 1 daughter and 3 sons:
1) Lafay Wilfong (born 1899)
2) Dolpha D Wilfong (1900-1978)
3) Guy Wilfong (1905-1985)
4) John W Wilfong (born 1909).

Margaret Wilfong died January 5, 1956 at Carroll, Iowa and was buried at the Manning Cemetery, Manning, Carroll, Iowa.

Obituary from the Harlan Tribune, January 20, 1956 (and Find a Grave):

Margaret Ann Wilfong, daughter of Mary Gawley and Andrew Dales, was born July 14, 1868 at Cambridge, Ohio. She came to Shelby county when she was 14 years old.
On August 16, 1889, she was married to William H Wilfong at Harlan. They lived in the Botna community until 1940, when they moved to Manilla. Mr. Wilfong died in 1947 and Margaret has made her home with her children the past five years. She enjoyed good health until she fell and suffered a broken hip. She was taken to St Anthony's hospital at Carroll, where she died the following day, Thursday, January 5, at the age of 87 yrs, 5 mos and 21 days.
Preceding her in death were her parents, nine sisters and brothers, her husband and an infant.
Surviving are one daughter, Mrs. Robert Flint and 3 sons, Delpha and John of Manilla and Guy Wilfong of Sidney, Nebraska. Also seven grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held at the Ohde Funeral home in Manning on Sunday afternoon, January 8, 1956. Rev. Orland Johnson of Wesleyan Methodist church of Denison officiated and burial was in the Manning cemetery.
Pallbearers were Frank Means, Harold Calvin, Ed Theobald, George Flint, Floyd Grage and T J Rowan.
