Aug 12, 1975 - Carroll Daily Times - Carroll friends have received word of the recent death of Mrs. John McGee, 99, of Fresno, Calif., the former Edith Macomber of Carroll. Following cremation, her ashes are to be sent to the Dahn-Woodhouse Funeral Home in Carroll for interment in the Macomber family plot at the Carroll City Cemetery, according to information received from Mrs. McGee's niece, Mrs. Malcolm (Kathryn) McConnell of Chicago.

Mrs. McGee was the youngest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. H.W. Macomber. Her father was a lawyer and banker in the early days of Carroll. The family home was at 727 North Adams Street. She was a graduate of the University of Iowa, and following her marriage spent most of her life in Los Angeles, Calif., before moving to Fresno.

The McGees were the parents of two sons, Francis and John. A widow, she had resided in a Fresno nursing home for several years. Mrs. McGee's sister, Mrs. Mamie Whitten, and brothers, Frank and Charles Macomber, preceded her in death.
