Jan 12, 1911 - Carroll Times - At the family home near Glidden last Friday occurred the death of August Rose, who had been ill only a short time with kidney trouble. His death was unexpected and comes as a hard blow to the grieving wife and three small children. He had been a resident of this county ever since a small youth and had lived in the vicinity of Halbur.

Last March he moved to a farm near Glidden and he was doing nicely for himself and family. He was a loving and kind husband and father and the wife is nearly prostrated with grief over his untimely demise.
